Run the numbers before you view.
Two calculators, in NT$, using the same formulas as our Chinese tools. Change any field and the results update. Figures are estimates for planning; your bank and land administration agent confirm the real ones.
Monthly payment
Annuity (fixed payment) or straight-line (falling payment), with an optional interest-only grace period.
Default rate 2.5% is an example, not a quote. Foreign buyers with a residence permit and Taiwan income typically borrow 50–70% of the price over 15–20 years; see the buying guide. The Chinese page adds the citizen-only 新青安 subsidised loan, which is not open to foreign nationals.
Cash you need on top of the price
Down payment plus taxes, fees and a renovation reserve, for a resale apartment.
Assumptions, same as our Chinese calculator: deed tax on an assessed value of about 10% of price at 6%; stamp duty and registration about 0.1% of price; land administration agent about NT$25,000; escrow 0.06% of price shared half each. Real tax bills use the government-assessed values of the specific property.
Tax calculators are on our Chinese site
The housing and land income tax, land value increment tax and landlord tax calculators depend on assessed values and Chinese tax codes, so they stay on the main site for now. Each opens in a new tab; your browser's translate function works on them.
Want the long version? It's on fshouse.com.tw.
Our main site has 300+ Chinese articles, calculators and project pages. These are the ones behind this page. Your browser's translate button works well on them.
Want a bank to confirm the number?
Send us the price range and your residence status. We get a pre-assessment from two or three banks before you make an offer. The bank only gives its final decision after the contract is signed, so the contract should include a financing clause. Banks that commonly lend to foreign buyers include DBS, HSBC and Fubon, and a Taiwanese guarantor greatly helps approval.
